jpt's back
off to start a new bankroll again, will be playing live and online (mostly live this time, metro cardroom ftw)... but my fulltiltpoker account's up again so we'll see...
as to which kind of games i'll be playing? still don't know... from this point on, it will be another learning journey for the jpt :P
but my mid term goal is hit that metro75 and win it...
shuffle up and deal!
Will be back very soon...
Is it just me or are most of the good poker blogs around aren't updated lately? Seems like Gamefrog's been the only one updating and I'm not surprised his winning tons of money again :P
Anyway, I've been inactive for many months primarily because I've been working on-site since February last year... but I think my assignment will be ending soon which means I'll be Manila-based again.
Will post some hands once I start playing seriously again... :D
Poker blog-guide
Its been quite some time since I started playing Poker seriously... I remember my first few early post was about joining the PPT in Tagaytay and a few rants on the home games I play with Adrian. Man that feels like a long time ago.As I was reading quickly through them and their comments, I noticed the guys who helped me pick up my game especially when I started playing online. The Poker Blog community has really been of great help, I think almost everyone benefited from it... especially when sharing a bad beat hehehe.Although there are countless Poker Blogs out there, there are a few that I consider Elite (naks!) which therefore should be visited once in a while especially when you're starting out (live or online).1. NickG's www.pokerfilipinas.blogspot.com - This is "the" blog to go to when looking for Poker activities. I think all active Poker players with blogs are on his link. So from there, you can just go ahead and click away ang visit all other blogs as well. I think Nick's going to be one of the pioneers (if not yet) in Philippine Poker. He was also responsible for sponsoring a $1,000 Online Freeroll (which I won 1st prize! :P). 2. Maverick's www.thatstateofmind.blogspot.com - This is also a popular blog to go to when looking for Poker activities in the Metro. I think he and Nick are going to be one of the pioneers :P3. Gamefrog's www.gamefrog.blogspot.com - If you're starting out online and you're looking for tips and strats, you need to check out this blog. Its too bad he's not updating it anymore (paramdam ka naman! hehehe), but reading his past posts will definitely help you in your game. Gamefrog's more of an MTT player though, if you're planning to grind the SnG's you need to check out the next blog.4. ManilaGrind's www.manilagrind.blogspot.com - As his nickname suggests, he grinds the SnGs at fulltilt. He also has his own posts about SnG strats which is very handy when you're feeling lost. 5. Nutsboy's www.nutsboy.blogspot.com - He's inactive now but his tips and strats are also very good. Last time I heard, he shifted to Ring games and was earning a lot of dough from it. 6. 11Finger's www.11finger.blogspot.com - Also an MTT player i think. Before he was also hosting private SnGs at fulltilt promoting online Poker to Filipinos. My first real money deposit was a transfer from 11Finger :D hehe.If I missed any, sorry about it... you know I'm thankful! :DSo if you're thinking about starting out and afraid of feeling lost, well don't be. Just visit these sites and you're good to go! Of course you can also ask help from me hehehe... I'm glad to be paying it forward. On a different note, still haven't made a deposit on my Account so no update for May. But I'm slowly winning again so if I continue increasing what's left of my bankroll, I'll get to have my 30x buyin by June 1.
deeep 5.50$ MTT weekend
Played some 5.50$ MTTs this weekend... came in pretty deep on 2 of them, one 12th and another 26th out of 200++ players.Although my ITM% is high, both of them barely gave me any income... sigh! The big money's in the top 3, I can feel its just around the corner...I'll be hitting the 5.50s tournament once a day this week... we'll see if i can get the big $$$.Parang gusto ko ng xbox360! hehehe
No 30x buyin action
Somehow I'm having problems finding a way to deposit my 30x buyin to start playing again on fulltilt. This sucks! stupid epassporte...Now I'm forced to tight play my remaining bankroll plus a few referral bonuses. hehehe. I'm down to playing 1 table at a time on the 6.50s. But so far, I've been slowly able to increase my BR thanks to a few 1st places on the 6.50s. Once I break 150 again, I'll be going back to 2 tables of 6.50s.There are no plans for me this weekend, so I'll just be at the apartment the whole time juggling Poker, DS, Simpsons, and some few house chores of course. :DIts already May! June's just around the corner and I'll be heading back to Manila again (exciting!)!I miss playing consoles, there are brand new PS2s here for sale about 120EUR. Not too bad, gusto ko na patulan but the games are so expensive... FFXII costs 60EUR!! damn! eh sa Manila 100php lang hehehe... Now I'm trying to look for stores that let you rent the games... if i find a cheap one... bili na ako PS2 hehe.Or better, if we officially get extended here until Oct... I'll prbably just get a european Wii or PS3! lol! kaso ang mhal lang talaga... bahala na :DGSW won the series against DAL! go underdogs! hehehe.CHI vs DET 2nd round... go CHI!!!! hehehe...
NickG's 1000$ Freeroll
Happy Birthday again NickG! Thanks for sponsoring a freeroll! Its a good way to invite more Pinoy Poker players to play online! :D
Hurray! I won 1st prize! hehe... luck was on my side on the final 5 when I rivered my winning cards twice to eliminate 2 other players. GG guys! 11Finger, thanks for inviting me to join! hehehe buti na lang sumali ako! :DLooking forward for Nick to ship it! Dalaw ako sa bagong poker place sa south when I get back! :D
Starting over
March and April sucked, April’s just about to end and I’m officially bankrupt. Apparently my plan to go for volume wasn’t a smart move. Thinking I could win the big $$$, I went up to bite more than what I can chew.
So I’m starting over… loading 30xBuy-in of 6.50s. I’ll start tracking games again by May. And this time, I’ll be decreasing my tables per set to two again. Manilagrind was kind enough to review my Hand Histories and it seems most of his comments could’ve been avoided had I paid attention to my tables. Hopefully things will get better again.
I don’t know if it’s just me but lately its been really difficult getting ITM. Almost every time I’m in a table, familiar nicknames are there. Everyone’s waiting for the blinds to go up before they push and fold, making room for errors less and less. It sucks, it really does…
I’m thinking if there’s an anti-strategy to what many are trying to follow, hehehe… but I could just be blaming other players for my bad plays too. Anyway, this post is a milestone of a new bankroll. Time to win back what’s mine!I’m starting fresh… no more tilt… let’s play!
